"Although it is true that the guitar can be challenging, it also provides unique advantages."  Warren Greig

Lessons & Workshops

"Over the years I have worked through a great deal of jazz guitar and jazz theory literature on the market.  Unfortunately, most of these materials provide an incomplete view of the instrument in that the contents make excessive usage of tablature for melodic playing and fingerboard diagrams for harmonic playing. These approaches are somewhat restrictive.

Furthermore, conventional learning models based on modal thinking are incomplete in that they do not stress the importance of rhythmic variety, arpeggios, intervals, chromatic concepts and minor harmony. Although it is true that the guitar can be challenging it also provides unique advantages." Warren Greig

Private Lessons: focus on jazz improvisation, harmony and theory. various strategies for unlocking the fingerboard.

Workshops: the application of intervals, scales and chords to the guitar. applying this information to tunes requires a complete knowledge of not only the major scale but diminished harmony and the composite minor (natural minor, harmonic minor and melodic minor) as well as common performance practice.

The manner in which the fingerboard is viewed determines how quickly guitarists  can adapt to playing situations. Knowing where the notes are can unlock soloing, comping, solo arrangements and sight reading.
